Seriously:
We all, at some time or the other, need or want a font that are preferred operating system does not provide.
If it's granny who want's to print a greeting card, a web designer looking for just the right font for his homepage or anyone wanting to give that word document "the look".

And it goes on:
Invitations, menus, corporate logos, posters etc...

You never know when you'll need a font.

But: buying a font at every opportunity is seldom worth the money.
